Best Total War Warhammer 3 Mods 2025

Best Total War Warhammer 3 Mods

Mods are one of the best parts of PC strategy games. Total War: Warhammer franchise has a long-standing tradition with them especially. Hence why we will cover some of the best Total War: Warhammer 3 Mods further below. These are a mix of quality-of-life improvements and mechanical changes, covering a varied list of potential users.

Better Camera Mod

Total War Warhammer 3 Better Camera Mod

The camera is an important part of a game. It allows us to observe all the details of the action and act better. Especially when a game like Total War Warhammer 3 is in question. There are so many things to track and worry about. Therefore, having the freedom of vision is always appreciated.

This mod has been present in both of the previous Total War Warhammer games. Often cited as a staple mod for those willing to improve their experience, this mod is now available for the third installment of the series.

The better camera mod solves both strategic and spectacular uses of the game’s camera. The mod is self-explanatory, allowing you to engage better with the game’s camera. Quick ways to turn off UI, better zooming in, and a cinematic camera are all included.

The mod is compatible with all patches and mods, meaning you won’t have to do extra work or worry about which changes you are using along this mod. However, the mod will not work in multiplayer battles unless the opponent also has it. It’s easy to troubleshoot or disable, but it’s worth knowing the cause of the problem.

Legendary Characters

Total War Warhammer 3 Legendary Characters

There are never enough unique characters in Total War Warhammer games. Not for the lack of effort, Creative Assembly is well known for its attention to detail. It’s simply the sheer number of interesting characters from the world of Warhammer. Thankfully, modders are there to compensate for some of the missing ones.

Legendary Characters mod adds more than 30 new characters across the factions. Covering races present in older games as well, this is a perfect mod for those who want a big serving of extra generals in their campaign runs. Most of them also come with their own unique art for extra immersion.

Having more strategic options with your generals is always a good call. It’s fun to mix things up with these new characters’ specific skills. The mod is also compatible with the biggest mod of the entire franchise, SFO: Grimhammer, through compatibility mods.

Thematic Archery Rebalance

Total War Warhammer 3 Mod Thematic Archery Rebalance

The best way to play the game is usually by using ranged units. It’s no news that missile infantry dominated hard in the previous game, especially with all the wild buffs you could get. That’s why a couple of different missile-related mods have cropped up since.

The Thematic Archery rebalance isn’t quite a balance mod, as it is a mod that shifts the functionality of missiles. As a result, almost every faction will get quite a few parameters tweaked to their units. Of course, this change will also depend on the unit’s weapon.

Tweaks give advantages to certain factions in certain aspects. For example, some will be more and some less obstructed by the forests. Others will find themselves more effective at a closer range. On the other hand, some factions could experience almost no change, courtesy of minimal changes or the mod creator assuming the change is unnecessary.

Keep in mind that the mod doesn’t utilize these changes on the artillery or the legendary lords. Neither of these is affected, so there’s no impact on artillery-oriented armies. The mod is very compatible, so the best part of it all is how simple inserting and removing the Thematic Archery Rebalance mod is.

Climate Adaptations

Total War Warhammer 3 Mod Climate Adaptations

Climate penalties can be quite damaging to our campaign’s progress. While some are easier to bear, there will be situations where key points on the map are in unfavorable climates. This can be obnoxious due to the lack of possibilities to deal with penalties. Climate Adaptations provide a solution to this lack of mechanics.

With the mod, you’ll get an opportunity to adapt the faction to any climate. It will require a decent amount of time, 25 for unfavorable and 50 for uninhabitable climate, but it’s worth the time investment. If that’s still too much for your worldly conquest, consider the faster version of the mod. This version reduces the required time to 10 and 20 turns, respectively.

You can find more info about Climate Adaptations on Steam Workshop.

One Button Respec

Total War Warhammer 3 Mod One Button Respec

One of the simplest mods on our list, One Button Respec, helps you experiment with lords some more. Usually, lords cannot change their abilities or return skill points in any way. This leads to odd situations where lord can feel underwhelming to use later on, as some features become outdated.

With One Button Respec, you get a chance to reroll those skill points quickly and simply. It could also come in handy during accidental skill allocation. Everybody has that situation where our mouse or mind slips, adding a precious skill point to the wrong skill.

You can find more info about One Button Respec on Steam Workshop.

Decline Diplomacy

Total War Warhammer 3 Mod Decline Diplomacy

Diplomacy prompts can be obnoxious, especially when you are in the middle of a warpath. Constant peace offers you’ll decline anyway can be taken care of with the Decline Diplomacy mod. The only ones that will get through are ultimatums, which require some consideration. Regardless, a good mod for those who don’t like spending their end turn time declining endless propositions.

Dynamic AI

There are a lot of things AI in strategy games can do wrong. A complaint that we usually see is a rather static behavior most factions default to. To shake the game up, Dynamic AI mod may be of use.

This mod will make the AI act in a smarter way. For example, trying to defend borders, moving in on you with troops, and canceling their current actions. The whole mod provides a new experience when fighting any level of bot enemies. If you prefer having late-game challenges, Dynamic AI mod will help too. This is especially fun to mix up boring patterns, which can lead to enemy armies being too predictable.

As time goes on, the mod could integrate more elements that can change AI’s behavior, improving the game further. Compatibility shouldn’t be an issue either, leaving you with little setup for the extra quality of life.
