The size of our party can feel somewhat restrictive in Mount and Blade 2, which is why we’ll quickly seek to expand it. Without knowing how this task can seem quite troublesome. That’s why we’ll give you quick tips on how to increase your Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord party size.
Increasing the Clan Tier in Bannerlord
Increasing the Clan Tier is the simplest way to improve your party size. Each clan in the game has one, no matter whether it’s player or AI controlled. The Clan Tier’s purpose is to note how strong each one is and to scale various advancements within them, one of those being party size.
Each tier affects multiple abilities. To give you a proper rundown of them all, we’ll list each tier’s increases:
- Tier 1: No increase
- Tier 2: Increases Party limit by 1 (max. 2) and the size of a Party by 15 for each party in the clan.
- Tier 3: Increases Party limit by 1 (max. 2) and the size of a Party by 15 for each party in the clan
- Tier 4: Increases Party limit by 1 (max. 2) and the size of a Party by 15 for each party in the clan
- Tier 5: Increases the size of a Party by 15 for each party in the clan
- Tier 6: Increases the size of a Party by 15 for each party in the clan
Each Clan Tier also increases your maximum number of companions by 1, up to 9 at Tier 6. Clan Tiers have other effects, we have only listed those that impact our party size.
Bannerlord Skills
The Steward skill is widely useful in Bannerlord. One that affects our ability to govern settlements but also increases party size. It doesn’t add much early on, but scaling it higher can considerably boost our army’s size. Moreover, the Steward skill is really easy to increase. Improving settlement prosperity, raising new buildings, spending time in settlements, and plentiful other activities will bump it up fast.
However, Steward skill isn’t the only one that affects party size. A few other ones can garner quick increases in party size. These include:
- Leadership: After 250, every skill improvement increases the party size by 1
- Riding: At the skill of 75, Riding increases party size by 2. At 175, it increases party size by 15
- Bow: At 150, your party size is increased by 3
- Throwing: At 100, your party size increases by 5
- Trade: Reaching 275 in the skill increases party size by 15
