Minecraft Birch Forest

Minecraft Birch Forest

Birch forest is a widely present biome in Minecraft. We are likely to see them generated in most seeds, no matter how many times we generate a world. The frequency is welcome, as trees are always required. With the light color of birch trees, we get a new way to lighten up our building projects. The lighter color can work much better in some cases, making it fruitful.

Birch forests are far denser, though, so caution is advised. From within their dense canopy, monsters can spawn. In these cases, having some weapons helps, so always keep a sword handy when exploring a birch forest.

Birch forest plants

Aside from the trees across this biome, you can also find several flowers. Among the plants generated commonly in this biome, we find quite a few necessary for crafting dyes. The rose bush and lilac are the most present in birch forests but not the only ones available.

On top of these, we can also find peonies, lilies of the valley, and two standard spawns like dandelions or poppies. This diversity makes these forests perfect for stacking up quite a few plants in your inventory.

Old-growth birch forest

Minecraft sometimes generates birch forests as old-growth birch forests. These forests have birch trees that are far taller than regular trees. They can grow to be about 14 blocks tall. With that huge number of wood blocks, we can gather quite a bit more wood with each tree. However, some preparation will be needed to reach the top with fewer issues.

The plants and mobs of the old-growth birch forest are the same as regular birch forests. These biomes are of the temperate climate so expect the nearby biomes to generate based on that temperature too.

Birch forest mobs

The birch forest in Minecraft doesn’t have any unique mobs. Only standard ones that players can find throughout the world. Players should be well acquainted with them, considering you should have met all of them thus far. They come in passive and hostile categories.

Passive mobs

Sheep can spawn in groups of four. Their use comes from generating wool which you can dye with crafting.

Pig is a great source of food in Minecraft. Killing one will drop a piece of food that can be cooked.

Speaking of, chicken also drops food. Raw chicken is risky to eat, but you can cook it easily over a fire. Also the chicken can also drop up to two feathers when killed.

Hostile mobs

Hostile mobs are more present in birch forests as thick canopy can make them spawn. The list of present mobs is as follows:

  • Spider
  • Zombie
  • Zombie villager
  • Skeleton
  • Creeper
  • Slime
  • Enderman
  • Witch
  • Spider Jockey
  • Chicken Jockey
