Minecraft Killer Bunny Guide, Attacks and Drops

Minecraft Killer Bunny Guide

Usually, the hostile and passive mobs are quite distinct. Both in behavior and appearance. But there is a unique situation where these two overlap in appearance, at least mostly. The Killer Bunny is a special mob that can be found in most biomes. We will elaborate on its behavior and attacks below in the Minecraft Killer Bunny overview.

Rabbit

Rabbits are an uncommon mob found throughout the world. They are completely passive and can spawn in a ton of biomes. The specific color of bunnies can only be found in certain biomes. Yellow rabbits can be found in deserts. White, black, and white are present in colder climates, with snowy and frozen biomes being the most common places they spawn.

Lastly, black, brown, as well as brown and white rabbits, spawn in more temperate biomes like meadows. There are more differences, but these are the most common ones. However, a Killer Bunny is yet another potential spawn that can appear in many places.

Killer bunny

A killer bunny in Minecraft is an interesting variation of the passive mob that is rabbit. Instead of standard passive mob behavior, this one will turn hostile at the sight of the player. The Killer bunny will seek out players if they don’t find any nearby. This hostile mob can also attack foxes and wolves, provided any are nearby.

The color of a Killer Bunny’s fur is always white, while its eyes are horizontal instead of vertical. In addition, it has blood-red eyes, which will be its most identifying feature. A Killer Bunny will be only present in Java Edition, missing from Bedrock Edition.

Killer bunny Behavior

As mentioned before, this hostile mob will chase after the player. If the player isn’t within reach, the mob will seek them out. A Killer Bunny can lunge at the player from farther away, getting a hit in on the player before they can react. Afterwards, this mob retreats before preparing to attack again.

Otherwise, the Killer Bunny will attack foxes and wolves. Taking them down rather fast with its attacks.

A leash can still be used on this mob. It works as with regular rabbits. Having carrots in one hand can lead to the quick taming of this mob.

Killer bunny Attacks

The Minecraft killer bunny has a simple form of attack. That being its lunge. The player takes 8 damage on normal difficulty if the attack connects. Otherwise, the Killer Bunny will run back before attempting to attack again. It’s important to mention that this mob is immune to the Thorn enhancement, taking no damage upon hurting the player.

Killer bunny Drops

As with adult rabbits, we can expect a few drops in Minecraft. While not all are guaranteed, we can still get a few.

The first is a rabbit hide which a Killer Bunny can drop either 0 or 1 of. Looting enhancement can bump this up to 4.

Another drop present is raw rabbit. This food item drops from the Killer Bunny at the same pace and frequency as the rabbit hide.

The mob also has a 10% chance of dropping a rabbit’s foot when killed. It will help us craft a few different potions. We can also help the chances of it dropping by increasing our Looting enhancement’s level. This stacks up to thrice, each stack giving us 3% more chance up to 9%.
