Pixelmon is one of the most popular mods for Minecraft. Bringing over the fun of Pokemon games in a new light. Mixing the two results in an engaging experience that’s bound to evoke some pleasant memories and make new ones.
However, figuring out all the new information present within the mod can be tough. Even without the Pokemon taken into account, there are dozens of items, materials, and mechanics to get the hang of. To help you digest it, let’s go through the process of making one of the most important craftable items in the mod. In this article, we will be teaching you how to craft a healer in Pixelmon.
What are Healers in Pixelmon?
The Pokemon video games allow players to heal their Pokemon at Pokecenters. These locations act as the hospital equivalent for Pokemon, resetting their health to maximum when you bring them in. However, even though specialized buildings can be made in Minecraft, most people prefer to craft their own solutions.
Healers allow the player to heal their Pokemon in the Minecraft equivalent of Pokemon, named Pixelmon. These items occupy a single block and can have their colors changed through the use of dyes. Although this has no use past cosmetics, it could help personalize the items.
A healer does what you’d expect it to do, heals your Pokemon. Though it should be noted that knocked-out Pokemon can be revived at the healer too, making it our go-to for Pokemon recovery.
How to craft a Healer?
A healer is a nice thing to have on your hand. The Pixelmon will require us to get one eventually to improve our overall fun in the game. However, we must craft it first to get to use it. This crafting process takes quite a few materials, so make sure to have everything on hand before starting.
To craft a healer, put down aluminum ingots in each corner of the crafting table. Then, place a diamond in the middle and fill out the remaining places with iron ingots. It will spit out a single healer in the output box.
Do keep in mind that this process will require proper tools to craft ingots. For example, if you get aluminum blocks, they can be outright crafted into aluminum ingots. However, using bauxite ore in the furnace, you can smelt that same ore.
Iron ingots are even more straightforward. They can be made by smelting iron ore. Although there are no alternative ways to craft them, there’s still a chance to obtain them through wild Pokemon.
The diamonds will be mined as per usual. But, just like ingots can be received from wild Pokemon.
Both of these ingots can drop from Steel-type Pokemons. With a bit over 5% chance to do so.
Meanwhile, diamond drops are a bit more specific and are as follows:
- Tyranitar: 10% chance to drop 1 diamond
- Sableye: 10% chance to drop 1 diamond
- Garchomp: 30% chance to drop 1 or 2 diamonds
- Diancie: 30% chance to drop 1 to 3 diamonds
- Coalossal: 30% chance to drop 1 diamond
- Duraludon: 30% chance to drop 1 or 2 diamond
Can it be moved?
No, once the healer has been placed down it cannot be retrieved. Therefore, destroying it with any tool destroys the healer. However, you can reclaim a single aluminum ingot from a healer if you destroy it with a pickaxe.
Alternative ways to heal
Of course, if you can’t make the healer itself, there are a few available alternatives. These are simpler but less versatile than a healer.
Bed
Simply resting in a bed will heal up your Pokemon just like the healer.
Commands
You can also type /pokeheal in the command line to heal the Pokemon. It immediately accomplishes it but requires access to the commands.
