Jeronimo

  • Massive offensive stats for a very long time (can be used effectively up to Gen 6–7).
  • Natural Leader buff (15% stat) is global, even if he’s not in the march.
  • Strong for Bear Hunt.
  • Extremely expensive to max out (requires VIP 7–12 packs).
  • Not feasible for most free-to-play or low spenders.

Natalia

  • Strong single-target infantry attacker if you cannot get Jeronimo.
  • Permanent 10–15% buff (even if not present).
  • Solid in Bear Hunt as well.
  • Less raw stats than Jeronimo.
  • Still paywalled (though cheaper than Jeronimo.
  • A Tier (Free-to-Play)

Molly

  • Easy to upgrade naturally via recruitment.
  • Good 3-skill mythic kit for early offense.
  • Eventually overshadowed by higher-gen Lancers.
  • Lacks major “rally” skill synergy.

Sergey

  • Inexpensive epic infantry with decent defensive skills.
  • Shards widely available via Intel, events, or hero hall.
  • No strong offensive skill.
  • No exclusive gear or large rally buff.

Zinman

  • Technically “free” from Lucky Wheel but only 40 days in Gen 1.
  • Has a unique widget (but it’s mostly developmental/production-based).
  • Not truly a “combat hero” – a lot of dev focus.
  • Hard for free-to-play to star up quickly in only 40 days.
  • Not worth using General Shards on.

Bahiti

  • Free, you can gather her shards easily.
  • Simple filler for early PVP.
  • Low ceiling. Overshadowed quickly by later gens.
  • Typical Lineups for Gen 1
  • Free-to-Play

Flint

  • Lucky Wheel hero = free-to-play accessible.
  • Good defensive stats, synergy for early-mid PVP.
  • Overall “safe pick” if you haven’t gotten Natalia or Jono.
  • Primarily defensive; overshadowed later.

Alonso

  • Great for offense/rally calls (rally lethality).
  • Straight purchase if you want immediate power.
  • Similar roles appear in future generations (easily replaced).

Philly

  • Strong defensive skill for Defender Troops Health.
  • Good for high-level fortress/castle defenses.
  • Requires winning Koi/SVS (competitive, not guaranteed).
  • Mostly a defensive Lancer.

Mia

  • High burst damage potential (chance-based 50% skill).
  • Very feasible to get 4-stars as free-to-play with gem spins.
  • Rally skill is mostly “Attack + random chance.” Not reliable.
  • Outclassed in later gens for rally leading.

Greg

  • Excellent early-mid game marksman with rally buff.
  • Also decent in exploration/arena.
  • Hard to obtain for free (need top SVS/Koi ranking).
  • If you skip him, you can pivot to other marksmen in Gen 4+.

Logan

  • Solid “Defender Troops” skill set.
  • Not worthwhile for free-to-play to invest in (Hall of Heroes = expensive).
  • Overshadowed quickly by future infantry.

Lynn

  • Lucky Wheel free-to-play marksman.
  • Good Defender Troops Lethality skill, nice for PVP defense.
  • Some prefer Greg or a future marksman, so Lynn might be replaced.

Reina

  • Very strong rally & arena Lancer.
  • Good overall stats, can remain relevant.
  • Spending or high shard usage needed.
  • Hard for free-to-play to star up.

Ahmose

  • Decent stats for both offense & defense.
  • Usually overshadowed by older “super infantry” like Jono/Natalia.
  • Not widely recommended; can be skipped if you can’t easily get him.

Hector

  • Free-to-play can get him to 4-stars fairly easily.
  • Big “Defender Troops Attack” buff, solid for city/facility defense.
  • Still overshadowed eventually by later gens.

Norah

  • 15% Rally Troops Lethality (great for offense).
  • Good skill synergy for PVP.
  • Koi/SVS can be difficult to win.
  • Not easy for free-to-play.

Gwen

  • Very high single-target burst, especially good in Arena or PVP.
  • Great for rally leaders who want top-tier marksman.
  • Purely paywalled (Hall of Heroes).
  • Outclassed once you keep moving up in gens.

Renee

  • Highly efficient in expedition/PVP.
  • Great synergy with multiple skill triggers.
  • Replaced if you pay for stronger Lancers in later gens.

Wu Ming

  • Decent for “rally joiners” who want newest infantry buff.
  • Standard defensive skill set.
  • Big paywall in Hall of Heroes.
  • Generally overshadowed by older super-inf (Jono/Natalia).

Bradley

  • 25% Attack skill for all troops = huge synergy for rally joiners.
  • Fantastic in Arena (extremely strong damage kit).
  • Easily 4-starred as free/low spender if you have enough gems.
  • Gets overshadowed once brand-new generations appear, but still top-tier in Gen 7.

Edith

  • 20/20 synergy skill. Great Rally Joiner buffs.
  • Very flexible in attack or defense.
  • Hard to get for free.
  • Not a big “permanent buff” hero like Jono.

Gordon

  • Very interesting hybrid skill set (attack & defense).
  • Decent synergy for rally leads.
  • Heavy spend in Hall of Heroes.
  • Many prefer older or cheaper Lancers.

Gatot

  • One of the best pure defensive infantry in the game.
  • All skills revolve around strong tanking/defensive buffs.
  • Replaces Hector or older infantry for free-to-play.

Sonya

  • If you want the newest Lancer with strong stats.
  • Great synergy for big-spend rally leads.
  • Expensive to max star.
  • Similar to older top Lancers in role.

Hendrik

  • High offensive stat line, top-tier for rally leading in Gen 8.
  • Competitive event gating.
  • Not free-to-play friendly.
