Ship Navigating

Navigating a ship in Marauders is easy enough for even the most inexperienced crew to become a pro at it. It’s probably no surprise to anyone that the pilot periscope is where you control the ship’s speed, but you might not know that it’s also where you turn on your ship’s lights.

There are two periscopes on each ship (one for each team member), and all of them allow the pilot to control one or more weapons systems. So far, all unlockable ships in Marauders have only one weapons slot, so the pilot can control either a weapon system or move around while someone else manages another.

When firing weapons, it’s best to aim at targets where you want to hit them (rather than just in their general direction) and then hold down B to fire until the target ship is within range of your weapons system.

Guide On Using Marauders Ships

The primary control for any ship is the pilot periscope. This is used to navigate, turn around after an enemy has rammed your ship, and change weapons systems. It can be used even when not on a ship, so it’s always good to keep it in mind.

One thing that can confuse ships is how they deal with facing—although you may move a ship with the pilot periscope when using it. Its facing won’t necessarily change while doing so. The facing will only change when you release.

The marauder ship controls are as follows: Press W to move forward, Left Ctrl to lower the ship’s elevation, and press the spacebar to raise the ship’s elevation. Once docked, use the airlock doors to enter the Marauder ship. When you enter one of these areas, your ship will automatically dock with the Marauder.

To leave the Marauder, open up the airlock hangar doors on your ship and walk out into space. To leave a raid using your ship, you must use the airlock hangar doors on the side of your ship to enter the base.

If your ship is damaged, you can use the onboard fire extinguisher on the engine block to raise its health bar again. The stash box counts as an extension of your inventory. You can store loot here, which you will keep when you extract.

You can board ships with a boarder pod, which will prompt you to press F when you are near the ship. You can also use these pods to escape if you are boarded by another player (be aware that they can do this too).

Breacher pods can’t enter raid zones but can breach onto ships. You can use the breacher pods to board enemy ships and steal them. But be careful: they can also breach yours.

Breacher pods are specialized escape pods that can be used to escape from a ship your enemies have boarded. They can’t dock at raid zones or other areas where you usually land ships, but they can breach enemy ships and give you access to the enemy crew.

You will be prompted to press F when in range of an enemy ship so that you can start killing your enemies and stealing their ship for yourself.

The stash box onboard your ship acts like an extension of your inventory; any items you store here will be kept safe when you extract from an area or board another ship.
