In LOTR Rise To War Arwen is an amazing Support/Focus based damage Commander when it comes to the good side with above-average stats for all 3 main stats. She is one of the best Commanders in her respective tier, she has perfect modifiers and bonuses both for her damage skills and for her healing/sustain skills.

Arwen is also one of the iconic characters from LotR lore and folklore amongst the Elven race, and also an important side character in the LotR series, being Aragorn’s wife after war and queen of the Reunited Kingdom of Arnor and Gondor, also she is the character that united Men and Elves in peace after many years.

Arwen is Tier 2 Commander and the first thing that you need to notice and acknowledge is her base trait which is “Support“. “Support” trait will give Arwen +25 (Commander) Focus, +5 Skill points. Arwen’s highest stat is Focus. “Focus” reduces the damage that his designated army receives during battle. Whenever your Commander levels up you will have a skill point to spend in their skill tree.

There are four main skills and thus four different focus points in Arwen’s skill tree which we will talk about here. Note that each of these four main skills has two additional skills connected to them which you will unlock upon leveling the main skill to level 2. On Commander Respect level 0 you will have two starting main skills.

Best Arwen Build

Respect level 0 Build

The first one of two starting main skills is “Lady of Rivendell”. “Lady of Rivendell” skill when active will give: (Arwen) Focus damage dealt +%. This is a great skill for extra damage especially because Arwen’s highest stat is Focus, it worth investing skill points in if you choose to build her as a damage dealer instead of a support/healing Commander.

It is recommended to level both  Respect 0 main skills simultaneously for the best results. Note that the “Lady of Rivendell” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. At the max level of “Lady of Rivendell”, Arwen will receive additional +15 Focus points, which again is great since it is Arwen’s highest stat and she will deal even more damage with this skill.

As mentioned above upon leveling the “Lady of Rivendell” skill to level 2 you will unlock its two additional skills which you will be able to level up. These two skills are:

River’s Wrath: (Against all enemies) Deals % Focus damage (effect modified by Focus stat) and imposes % chance of being Stunned for 1 round. This skill has 5 rounds of cooldown.
Surge: Deals % Focus damage twice, (effect modified by Focus stat). Each separate attack chooses a different target). This skill has 2 rounds of cooldown.

These skills are amazing for Arwen and it’s recommended to have at least 1 point spent on them. While for example “River’s Wrath” has a quite long cooldown of 5 rounds, it deals massive damage to all enemies which makes it worth it. Note that both of these skills are modified by Focus stat and they both deal Focus damage which is perfect for Arwen.

Naturally, effect stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.

The second main skill is “Undomiel” which when active will give: (2 Allied units)  % of recovering HP when Physical damage is sustained. Now, this skill is something you consider spending points on, if you need more sustain, it is absolutely worth spending skill points on this skill.

As we said above, it would be great if you could level both Respect 0 main skills simultaneously, however, “Lady of Rivendell” is slightly more viable for battling power since effects are modified by Focus stat and it is based on Focus damage. Note that “Undomiel” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill.

Additionally, on max level of “Undomiel” skill, the chance of recovering HP will not apply only to Physical damage but to every type of damage, which again is a great bonus for this skill, definitely on par with a bonus of 15 Focus points received from “Lady of Rivendell” being maxed. Two additional skills that you will unlock upon leveling “Undomiel” to level 2 are:

Cleansing Touch: (2 Allied targets) Recover % HP (effect modified by Focus stat). and randomly remove 1 debuff. This skill has 2 rounds of cooldown.
Elven Blessing: (2 Allied units) Recover % HP (effect modified by Focus stat) and gain a % of reactivating effect once. This skill has 2 rounds of cooldown.

Both of these skills are amazing for sustain/mitigation, not only that they massively heal your units and have a chance to heal twice, but they also remove debuffs. Since you will probably not have enough skills for both of the main skills and their connecting skill, it will be up to you and your needs to decide which skill tree to go for, rest assured that both choices are great, and picking either of them will not be a mistake.

Naturally, effect stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.

Respect level 3 Build

Upon reaching Respect level 3 with Arwen you will be able to unlock and level up her third main skill called “Half-Elven” which when active will give: Gain either Might +% or Focus +% during combat. This is a skill tree to slowly level up after you feel comfortable with the number of skill points invested in “Lady of Rivendell” and “Undomiel”.

Arwen has a pretty good Might stat and it scales well but none of her skills up to this point deal damage that scales based on Might or is modified by Might stat, and since it will give either bonus Might or Focus, it has a chance to be of great use if given Focus or to some degree useless if given Might.

Nonetheless, it is a very good skill to have some points in after reaching a point of satisfaction for the first two main skill trees. Note that “Half-Elven” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. Like every other main skill, these stats rise as you level up the skill. At the max level of the “Half-Elven” skill, Arwen will receive +10 Might and +10 Focus points.

This bonus is very useful, so keep this bonus in mind when deciding on spending skill points. Two additional skills that you will unlock upon leveling “Half-Elven” to level 2 are:

Boon: (All allied units) Randomly receive one of the following buffs in battle: Physical damage received -% / Physical damage +%
Coalition: (Men and Elves) Attacks have a % chance to cause maximum damage.

Just like skills from her previous skill trees, these two are no more or less impressive and useful. These are amazing skills to buff your Men and Elves units and you should definitely invest some skill points on them.

Naturally, effect stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.

Respect level 5 Build

And finally, upon reaching Respect level 5 with Arwen you will be able to unlock and level up her fourth main skill called “Queen of the Reunited Kingdom” which will give: (All allied units) Damage received -% during combat. Effect’s initial value decreases by 1/4 each time damage is sustained.

This is a great skill for pure sustain/mitigation but it shouldn’t be your focus point unless you need additional sustain that this skill provides since you have the “Undomiel” for that purpose. At the max level of the “Queen of the Reunited Kingdom” skill, the effect’s initial value only decreases by 1/5 each time damage is sustained. Note that the “Queen of the Reunited Kingdom” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. Two additional skills that you will unlock upon leveling “Queen of the Reunited Kingdom” to level 2 are:

Nobility: (Men) Damage +%.
Parting Gift: (Round 8) [All allied units]  Recover % HP (effect modified by Focus stat). This skill has 7 rounds of cooldown.

If you have some skill points to spare u might spend at least 1 skill point in each of these skills for more healing and more damage for Men.

Naturally, effect stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.
