Eowyn is the strongest Commander when it comes to the good side and tier 1 Commanders with way above average stats for all 3 main stats. Eowyn is also one of the iconic characters from LotR lore and folklore amongst the Men race, and also an important side character in the Lotr series, her most memorable feature being that she killed Witch-King of Angmar.
Eowyn is Tier 1 Commander in LOTR Rise To War and the first thing that you need to notice and acknowledge is her base trait which is “Balanced”. The ”Balanced” trait will give Eowyn +25 (Commander) Might, +25 (Commander Speed), and +2 Skill points. Eowyn’s highest stat is Might. Might increase Physical damage dealt with enemy units and commanders. Every time when your Commander levels up you will have a skill point to spend in their skill tree.
There are four main skills and thus four different focus points in Eowyn’s skill tree which we will talk about here. Note that each of these four main skills has two additional skills connected to them which you will unlock upon leveling the main skill to level 2. On Commander Respect level 0 you will have two starting main skills.
Eowyn is one of many Tier 1 commanders from good side in LOTR Rise To War same as Dwalin and Haldir.
Respect level 0 Build
The first one of two starting main skills is “Shieldmaiden”. “Shieldmaiden” skill when active will give :
(Melee units) % chance of reducing Physical damage by %. This is a decent skill for extra damage mitigation. You should invest some of the skill points in this skill in the early game but her second main skill is more important.
Note that “Shieldmaiden” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. At the max level of “Shieldmaiden”, Eowyn will receive additional +15 Focus points.
As mentioned above upon leveling the “Shieldmaiden” skill to level 2 you will unlock its two additional skills which you will be able to level up. These two skills are:
- Attack Vitals: (Against 1 enemy target) Deals % Physical damage and +% chance to deal additional % Physical damage. This skill has 1 round cooldown.
- Defensive Stance: (Against 1 enemy target) Deals % Physical damage, [1 allied unit] next damage received -% (effect modified by Focus stat). This skill has 2 rounds of cooldown.
These skills are pretty decent and it’s recommended to have at least 1 point spent on them.
Naturally effective stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.
The second main skill is “Rohirim” which when active will give :
(Mounted units) Damage +% upon inflicting damage [effect modified by Speed stat] (up to 3 stacks). Now, this skill is something you should focus on in the early game and you should prioritize this skill tree especially for all mounted units that you have recruited. Note that “Rohirrim” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill.
Additionally, on max level of “Rohirrim” skill, Eowyn will receive additional +15 Might points. Two additional skills that you will unlock upon leveling “Rohirrim” to level 2 are:
- Cleave: (Against 1 enemy target) Deals % Physical damage (effect modified by Speed stat). This skill has 2 rounds of cooldown. This is an insane damage skill and needless to say u should definitely max it out.
- Riding Excellence: (Mounted units) Damage received -%. Since Eowyn is focused around mounted units, this is a great damage mitigation skill to spend some points in.
Naturally effective stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.
Respect level 3 Build
Upon reaching Respect level 3 with Eowyn you will be able to unlock and level up her third main skill called “Dernhelm” which when active will give:
(Eowyn) Damage dealt +%. This is a skill tree to focus on in the mid-game and you should max it out as soon as you unlock it since Eowyn has great damage naturally, and maxing out this skill would boost that damage even more.
Note that “Dernhelm” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. Like every other main skill, these stats rise as you level up the skill. At the max level of the “Dernhelm” skill, Eowyn will receive an additional +20% Normal attack damage buff. Two additional skills that you will unlock upon leveling “Dernhelm” to level 2 are:
- Cripple: (Against 1 enemy target) Deals % Physical damage and greatly reduces Speed for 2 rounds. This skill has 1 round cooldown.
- Giant Slayer: (Commander) Damage against Large units +%.
It is highly recommended to max out “Dernhelm”, if needed reset skill points if you put too many in “Shieldmaiden” and spend them on this main skill, When it comes to “Cripple” and “Giant Slayer”, spend points in them as you see it suitable, it’s recommended not to and instead spend points in Respect 5 skills, but you might bounce back and forth to them depending on your situation and needs.
Naturally effective stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.
Respect level 5 Build
And finally, upon reaching Respect level 5 with Eowyn you will be able to unlock and level up her fourth main skill called “White Lady of Rohan” which will give:
(Every round) [All mounted units] Recover % of HP. This should be your focus point for late game and should definitely be maxed out along with “Rohirrim” or “Dernhelm ” (ideally both). Like every other main skill, these stats rise as you level up the skill.
At the max level of “White Lady of Rohan ” skill, all mounted units will gain Stun immunity. Note that the “White Lady of Rohan ” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. Two additional skills that you will unlock upon leveling “White Lady of Rohan” to level 2 are:
- Frontline Rescue: (Round 3) [All Melee units] Recover % of HP.
- Nobility: (Men) Damage +%.
You should definitely put some points in both of these skills so you can have HP recover not only for mounted units but also for ground units, and on top of that bonus damage from the “Nobility” skill
Naturally effective stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.
