Imrahil is a very good and adjustable Commander that is ranking as average commander in LOTR Rise To War Tier List with above-average stats for Might and Focus and way above average stat for Speed with great modifiers as well. Imrahil is also one of the iconic characters from LOTR lore and folklore amongst the Men race. Imrahil, also known as Prince Imrahil was the 22nd Prince of Dol Amroth.
Imrahil is Tier 2 Commander in LOTR Rise To War and the first thing that you need to notice and acknowledge is his base trait, “Leader“. “Leader” trait will give Imrahil +5 Command. Imrahil’s highest stat is Speed. Speed stat has 3 effects, firstly it increases the Commander’s turn order in battle. secondly, It increases each unit’s speed in battle and lastly, it increases the army’s march speed on the world.
There are 2 important things to understand, first of all, note that Imrahil is very tricky and hard to build with limited skill points, unlike many other Commanders. Second thing is that Imrahil is a Cavalry focused Commander and you want to run Men mounted units for Imrahil, Swan knights, and Marshals for example. Imrahil’s skill set is based mostly around the late game and Respect level 3 and 5 man skills. Every time your Commander levels up you will have a skill point to spend in their skill tree.
There are four main skills and thus four different focus points in Imrahil’s skill tree which we will talk about here. Note that each of these four main skills has two additional skills connected to them which you will unlock upon leveling the main skill to level 2. On Commander Respect level 0 you will have two starting main skills.
Respect level 0 Build
The first one of two starting main skills is “Ally”. “Ally” skill when active will give: (This Commander) % chance of recovering % HP after Mannish units deal Physical damage.
This skill will be one of your late game skills, you will want to have this skill and Respect level 5 skill maxed out.
As a matter of early game build, Since this skill is more viable in the long run for Imrahil’s build, it is recommended to go with this skill in the early game. This skill is very good for your Cavalry units since it gives your units more sustain and mitigation. The most important thing that will play a part in your choice will be their 2 connecting skills.
Note that “Ally” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. At the max level of “Ally”, Men will receive +1 HP. As mentioned above upon leveling the “Ally” skill to level 2 you will unlock its two additional skills which you will be able to level up. These two skills are:
Reinforcement: (2 allied units) [From round 7 onwards] Recover % HP each round.
Fortify: [While defending] (Allied units) Physical damage received -%.
“Reinforcement” is great for mitigation and defensive maneuvers and this is what you should focus on and invest points in. It is recommended to avoid “Fortify” unless you find yourself defending a lot, but again there are many better Commanders to fill in that role.
Naturally, effect stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.
The second main skill is “The Fair” which when active will give: (Against 1 enemy unit) Deals % Physical damage once [Next round] (All allied units) gain initiative. Now this skill is something you should focus on in the early and mid-game until you reach Respect level 5. Since you will already have the active defensive skill, which is “Ally”, you should prioritize this skill tree for its damage and initiative which is quite handy since you will be running Cavalry units.
Note that “The Fair” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. Additionally, on max level of “The Fair” skill, Imrahil will be getting +5% battle experience which will also help you to level up Imrahil faster and to gain access to Respect level 5 skill a bit faster. This skill has 2 rounds of cooldown. Two additional skills that you will unlock upon leveling “The Fair” to level 2 are:
Cleave: (Against 1 enemy target) Deals % Physical damage (effect modified by Speed stat).
Brawler: (Commander) Damage against melee units +%.
“Cleave” is a pretty good skill because it deals a very decent amount of damage and it’s modified by Speed stat which is Imrahil’s highest stat. Since you will want to have at least 2 points in “The Fair” main skill even when you get to Respect level 5 because you want the initiative that this skill is giving you, you might put a few points in “Cleave” as well for bonus damage.
Naturally, effect stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.
Respect level 3 Build
Upon reaching Respect level 3 with Imrahil you will be able to unlock and level up his third main skill called “Heir” which when active will give: (Every round) [Allied units] Defense +%, stacks once per round. Now this skill is something you should avoid since for Imrahil and his current best build this skill is not viable at all.
While it does give bonus defense in the long run it doesn’t pay off and you already meet defense requirements with “Ally” skill, so it will end up being a waste of skill points. Note that “Heir” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill.
Additionally, on max level of “Heir” skill, imrahil will receive a bonus of +15 Focus points. Two additional skills that you will unlock upon leveling “Heir” to level 2 are:
Gallant: (Commander) Might +% and Speed +%.
Nobility: (Men) Damage +%.
“Nobility” skill is pretty good since you will be running Men Cavalry units, so you might spend 2 points in “Heir” just to unlock this skill and give your units damage buff.
Naturally, effect stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.
Respect level 5 Build
And finally, upon reaching Respect level 5 with Imrahil you will be able to unlock and level up his fourth main skill called “Prince of Dol Amroth” which will give: (Mounted units) Speed +amount, gain Stun and Madness immunity. This should be your focus point for late game and should definitely be maxed out along with “Ally”.
These stats rise as you level up the skill like every other main skill. This is a great protecting skill for your Mounted units and many Commanders rely on debuffing and might completely ruin your army and take advantage of battle, but with this skill, debuffing attempts will not affect your units. At the max level of “Prince of Dol Amroth” skill, Horseman/ Knight/ Cataphract/ Swan Knight will gain +6 HP, which is great as well.
Note that the “Prince of Dol Amroth” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. Two additional skills that you will unlock upon leveling “Prince of Dol Amroth” to level 2 are:
Mounted Combat: (On hit) [Mounted units] % chance of dealing an additional % damage.
Coalition: (Men and Elves) Attacks have a % chance to cause maximum damage.
Both of these skills are like a blessing to your build and they both work wonderfully with your Men Cavalry units, you want to have both of these skills maxed.
Naturally, effect stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.
