Shagrat is one of the better Commanders in the game, with very good base Might stats and a good set of orc unit skills. Shagrat is a Tier 1 Commander, and the first thing you should notice and acknowledge is his base trait, “Support.”

n LOTR Rise To War Shagrat’s “Support” trait grants him +25 (Commander) Focus and + 5 Skill points, and he works best with units that deal a lot of damage because his supportive skills and traits provide extra sustain, resulting in a powerful combo. Shagrat’s highest stat is Might. Might increase Physical damage dealt with enemy units and. When your Commander levels up, you will gain a skill point to spend in their skill tree.

Shagrat’s skill tree has four main skills and thus four different focus points, which we will discuss here. It’s worth noting that each of these four main skills is linked to two additional skills that you’ll gain access to after leveling up the main skill to level 2.

On Commander Respect level 0, you will have two main skills to begin with.

Best Shagrat Build

Respect level 0 Build

The Reckless,” the first of two starting main skills, provides: -(Each round) [Self] Damage + percent, percent chance of succumbing to Madness. Furthermore, at max level, “The Reckless” skill grants Shagrat + 15 Might points. There isn’t much to say about this skill because it only benefits Shagrat and he has a chance to succumb to Madness, which isn’t really what you want if you want a decent build.

It’s worth noting that “The Reckless” skill is referred to as a “title” rather than a “skill,” which means that once unlocked and equipped with a skill point, it will function as a passive skill. As previously stated, when you level up “The Reckless” skill to level 2, you will unlock two additional skills that you can level up.

These are the two abilities:

  • Break Defenses: (Against a single enemy target) Deals % Physical damage, Defense – % for 1 round. This ability has a one-round cooldown.
  • Topple: (Against a single enemy target) Deals % Physical damage once and causes a % chance of being Stunned for 1 round. This skill has a two-round cooldown.
It is recommended to put two skill points into “The Reckless” just to unlock it and a few points into “Topple” because it is a very good skill in terms of damage and the chance of stunning the enemy.

The percentage of naturally effective stats increases as you level up addressed skills.

The second main skill is “Captor” which, when activated, grants the following: – (Against 1 enemy target) Stunned, Damage received – percent for 1 round. This is an absolute must-have skill in the early game with Shagrat because you can Stun any unit you choose every two rounds, effectively rendering them useless for half of the battle.

It’s ideal for use with “Topple,” which allows you to render units useless while also bursting them. It’s worth noting that the “Captor” skill is referred to as a “title” rather than a “skill,” which essentially means that once unlocked and equipped with a skill point, it will act as a passive skill. Furthermore, at the highest level of the “Captor,” “The Stun effect will be extended to two rounds if you have this skill. This skill has a two-round cooldown.

When you level up “Captor” to level 2, you will gain access to two new skills:

  • Open Wound: (Against a single enemy target) Deals a percentage of physical damage and prevents HP recovery for two rounds. This skill has a three-round cooldown.
  • Laceration: (Each Round) [On 1 enemy target] Bleeding is inflicted, causing the target to take percent Physical damage (continuous) for 3 rounds. This skill has a three-round cooldown.

The percentage of naturally effective stats increases as you level up addressed skills.

Respect level 3 Build

When you reach Shagrat’s Respect level 3, you will be able to unlock and level up his third main skill, “Watchman of Cirith Ungol” When “Watchman of Cirith Ungol” is active, it grants the following benefits: – (Orcs) Damage + percent, with a chance of succumbing to Madness every round. When you unlock this skill, you should reset your skill points and max it first for the mid game, then put the rest of your points into “Captor.”

It may appear that they have a chance of succumbing to Madness, but that’s where a max level bonus comes into play. It’s worth noting that the “Watchman of Cirith Ungol” skill is referred to as a “title” rather than a “skill,” which means that once unlocked and equipped with a skill point, it will function as a passive skill. These stats increase as you level up the skill, just like any other main skill. Orcs become immune to Madness when they reach the maximum level of the “Watchman of Cirith Ungol” skill.

When you level up “Watchman of Cirith Ungol” to level 2, you will gain access to two new skills:

  • Enrage: (All allied units) % chance of succumbing to Madness, Damage + % for 1 round. If you have “Watchmen of Cirith Ungol” maxed out, this skill is best used if your army is mostly Orc units. This skill has a two-round cooldown.
  • Corrupting Curse: (Each round) [On 1 enemy target] For 2 rounds, deals % Poison damage (Continuous) and has a % chance of inflicting Madness.
Both of these skills are highly recommended because they provide Madness immunity to your Orc units and can inflict it on enemy units. This skill has a two-round cooldown.

The percentage of naturally effective stats increases as you level up addressed skills.

Respect level 5 Build

Finally, when you reach Shagrat’s Respect level 5, you will be able to unlock and level up his fourth main skill, “Cirith Ungol Garrison” “which, when activated, will result in:[Allied units] (while defending) Damage has been received.

This skill will come in handy if you are frequently attacked and must defend yourself. It should not be your primary focus, but rather a situational skill. Shagrat will receive a bonus +15 Focus points when he reaches the maximum level of the “Cirith Ungol Garrison” skill. It’s worth noting that the “Cirith Ungol Garrison” skill is referred to as a “title” rather than a “skill,” which means that once unlocked and equipped with a skill point, it will act as a passive skill.

When you level up “Cirith Ungol Garrison” to level 2, you will gain access to two new skills:

Uruk-hai Captain: (Uruk-hai) +% chance of regaining HP after dealing damage.
Discipline: Defense +amount (Army). “Uruk-hai” isn’t really worth spending skill points on because it buffs Uruk units that don’t get Madness immunity; however, “Discipline” may serve you well in defensive battles.

The percentage of naturally effective stats increases as you level up addressed skills.
