In LOTR Rise To War Mouth of Sauron is in the middle tier Commanders with above-average stats for Focus, Speed and below-average Might. The mouth of Sauron is also one of the iconic characters from LotR lore and folklore amongst the Sauron forces. Mouth of Sauron is Tier 2 Commander and the first thing that you need to notice and acknowledge is his base trait which is “Balanced”. “Balanced” trait will give Mouth of Sauron +25 (Commander) Might, +25 (Commander Speed), and +2 Skill points.
Mouth of Sauron ‘s highest stat is Focus. Focus reduces the damage that his designated army receives during battle. Every time when your Commander levels up you will have a skill point to spend in their skill tree. There are four main skills and thus four different focus points in Mouth of Sauron’s skill tree which we will talk about here.
Note that each of these four main skills has two additional skills connected to them which you will unlock upon leveling the main skill to level 2. On Commander Respect level 0 you will have two starting main skills.
Respect level 0 Build
The first one of two starting main skills is “Black Numenorean” which gives :
-(Commander) Normal attacks inflict an additional % Focus damage. Additionally “Black Numenorean” skill at max level gives Mouth of Sauron +15 Focus points. This is a powerful early game skill against a single target enemy (ideally enemy Commander) since Mouth of Sauron relies on Focus as his main stat.
Note that “Black Numenorean” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. As mentioned above upon leveling the “Black Numenorean” skill to level 2 you will unlock its two additional skills which you will be able to level up. These two skills are:
- Dark Mantle: (Against all enemy units) Physical damage received.
- Black Arts: Deals +% Focus damage against 2 enemy targets (effect modified by Focus stat) and enemy targets afflicted by it cannot recover HP for 1 round. Extremely good skill. This skill has 2 rounds cooldown.
Naturally, effect stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.
The second main skill is “Harbinger of Darkness” which will give all allied units and enemy units debuff of -% damage for the first 2 rounds. Now, these are interesting skills that kinda forces stalemate but in which you will come on top with other skills from Respect 5 tree for example which we will talk about later.
Note that “Harbinger of Darkness” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. Additionally, on the max level of the “Harbinger of Darkness” skill, the effect will be extended for 3 rounds. Two additional skills that you will unlock upon leveling “Harbinger of Darkness” to level 2 are:
- Master of Mischief: (Against 2 enemy targets) Inflicts Madness (attacks enemies and allies alike), Defence -amount for 1 round. This skill has 2 rounds cooldown.
- Enfeeble: Bonus +% damage dealt to all enemy units and Commander afflicted by Madness. This skill has 2 rounds cooldown as well.
Naturally, effect stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.
Respect level 3 Build
Upon reaching Respect level 3 with Mouth of Sauron you will be able to unlock and level up his third main skill called “Messenger”. “Messenger” will put a debuff on enemy Commanders and they will deal -% damage with Normal attacks for the first 5 rounds. This is a skill tree to focus on if you want to heavily debuff enemy Commander since the whole skill tree is focused around that.
Note that “Messenger” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. Like every other main skill, these stats rise as you level up the skill. At the max level of the “Messenger” skill, the Damage – effect persists for the entire battle. Two additional skills that you will unlock upon leveling “Messenger” to level 2 are:
- Shutdown: (Against enemy Commander) Might and Focus -amount during combat.
- Disruption: (Against enemy Commander) Has a % chance of being Silenced for 1 round. This skill has 2 rounds cooldown.
Naturally effect stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.
Respect level 5 Build
And finally, upon reaching Respect level 5 with Mouth of Sauron you will be able to unlock and level up his fourth main skill called “Lieutenant of Barad-Dur” which will give a buff to all allied units of +% of damage. This should be your focus point in the late game especially as previously mentioned how well it works with “Harbinger of Darkness” and stalemate forcing but still ending on top of it.
Like every other main skill, these stats rise as you level up the skill. At the max level of “Lieutenant of Barad-Dur” skill, Mouth of Sauron will receive additional +15 Focus points. Note that “Lieutenant of Barad-Dur” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. Two additional skills that you will unlock upon leveling “Lieutenant of Barad-Dur” to level 2 are:
- Orcish Warlord: (Orcs) Speed +amount and damage received -%.
- Dishearten: (Enemy units) Damage -%.
It is highly recommended to put some points in both of these skills to end up with even better outcomes in stalemate forcing.
Naturally, effect stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.
