In LOTR Rise To War Gorbag good starting commander for evil side but late game he is not that great. Gorbag is also one of the iconic characters from LotR lore and folklore amongst the Sauron forces. Gorbag is Tier 1 Commander and the first thing that you need to notice and acknowledge is his base trait which is “Leader”.
“Leader” trait will give Gorbag +5 Command. Gorbag’s highest stat is Might. Might increase Physical damage dealt with enemy units and. Every time when your Commander levels up you will have a skill point to spend in their skill tree. There are four main skills and thus four different focus points in Gorbag’s skill tree which we will talk about here.
Note that each of these four main skills has two additional skills connected to them which you will unlock upon leveling the main skill to level 2. On Commander Respect level 0 you will have two starting main skills.
Gorbag is one of many Tier 1 commanders from evil side in LOTR Rise To War same as Sharku, Grima, Agzok,Khamul, Ugthak.
Respect level 0 Build
The first one of two starting main skills is “Interrogator” which gives (Enemies Stunned or Subject to Madness) Damage received +% for 1 round. Additionally “Interrogator” skill at max will receive a bonus for which damage bonus effect will be modified by Speed.
Not much to say about this skill, since it’s neither damage or buff skill and on top of that it’s modified by Speed at max level, you should avoid this skill unless you want to max out its two connected skills as well, in that case, it can be good. This skill has 2 rounds of cooldown.
Note that “Interrogator” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. As mentioned above upon leveling the “Interrogator” skill to level 2 you will unlock its two additional skills which you will be able to level up. These two skills are:
- Laceration: (Each Round) [Against 1 enemy target] Inflicts Bleeding, causing the target to suffer % Physical damage (Continuous) for 3 rounds. This skill has 3 rounds of cooldown.
- Restrain: (Against 2 enemy targets) % chance of being Stunned for 1 round.
It is highly recommended to put some points on both of these skills since they provide insane Burn damage burts against multiple targets.
Naturally effective stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.
The second main skill is “Old Orc” which will give (Commander) Focus +2 and (Commander) Might -1. This isn’t a very useful skill but regardless of its use you might put some points into it to unlock connecting skills if you are seeking to buff Focus orientated Commanders on your field.
Note that “Old Orc ” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. Additionally, on max level of “Old Orc ” skill, Gorbag will receive +15 Focus points. Two additional skills that you will unlock upon leveling “Old Orc” to level 2 are:
- Clear-headed: Time needed to complete tips -%.
- Dress Wounds: (1 Allied unit) Recover % HP. This skill has 2 rounds of cooldown.
Naturally effective stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.
Respect level 3 Build
Upon reaching Respect level 3 with Gorbag you will be able to unlock and level up his third main skill called “Grey Leader”. “Grey Leader” will give Orcs defensive buff for which Damage received will be reduced by -%.
Upon unlocking this skill you should reset your skill points and max this skill first for mid-game, and put the rest of the points into “Interrogator”. Note that “Grey Leader” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill.
Like every other main skill, these stats rise as you level up the skill. At the max level of “Grey Leader” skill, Orcs will get HP buffed by +amount. Two additional skills that you will unlock upon leveling “Grey Leader” to level 2 are:
- Orcish Warlord: (Orcs) Speed +% and Damage received -%.
- March: (Army) March Speed.
While it might not be the best or most interesting skill, for one of the worst Commanders in the game it is still a decent buff for Orc build.
Naturally effective stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.
Respect level 5 Build
And finally, upon reaching Respect level 5 with Gorbag you will be able to unlock and level up his fourth main skill called “Watchmen of Cirith Ungol” which will give Orcs a buff to their damage dealt for +% but has a chance to succumb to Madness each round.
This should be your focus point in the late game especially since this Commander is heavily dependant on Orc units, and it’s the same for his other skills as well. Like every other main skill, these stats rise as you level up the skill. At the max level of the “Watchmen of Cirith Ungol ” skill, Orcs will become Immune to Madness, which is actually a very useful bonus for this skill.
Note that the “Watchmen of Cirith Ungol ” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. Two additional skills that you will unlock upon leveling “Watchmen of Cirith Ungol” to level 2 are:
- Enrage: (All allied units) % chance of succumbing to Madness, Damage +% for 1 round. If you have “Watchmen of Cirith Ungol” maxed out, then it’s best to use this skill if your army is mostly Orc units. This skill has 2 rounds of cooldown.
- Corrupting Curse: (Each round) [Against 1 enemy target] Deals % Poison damage (Continuous) for 2 rounds and imposes % chance of inflicting Madness.
It is highly recommended to put some points on both of these skills since they give Madness immunity to your Orc units and can inflict enemy units with it. This skill has 2 rounds of cooldown.
Naturally effective stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.
