Sharku is one of the better in the lower tier list of Commanders with above-average stats for Focus and Speed, and below-average Might. Sharku is also one of the iconic characters from LOTR lore and folklore amongst the Sauron forces. Sharku is Tier 1 Commander in LOTR Rise To War and the first thing that you need to notice and acknowledge is his base trait which is “Strategist”.

“Strategist” trait will give Sharku +25 (Commander) Focus, +2 Skill points and 10% bonus Burn and Poison damage. Sharku’s highest stat is Focus. Focus reduces the damage that his designated army receives during battle. Every time when your Commander levels up you will have a skill point to spend in their skill tree. There are four main skills and thus four different focus points in Sharku’s skill tree which we will talk about here.

Note that each of these four main skills has two additional skills connected to them which you will unlock upon leveling the main skill to level 2. On Commander Respect level 0 you will have two starting main skills.

Sharku is one of many Tier 1 commanders from evil side in LOTR Rise To War same as Khamul, Grima, Agzok, Gorbag, Ugthak.

Respect level 0 Build

The first one of two starting main skills is “Arsonist” which gives (Commander) Normal attacks inflict % Burn damage. Additionally, “Arsonist” skill at max level Normal attacks inflict Burn damage twice, dealing less damage with each successive hit.

This is a powerful early game skill for extra burst damage, altho on max level damage drops, it is still an extremely powerful skill. Note that “Arsonist” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. As mentioned above upon leveling the “Arsonist” skill to level 2 you will unlock its two additional skills which you will be able to level up. These two skills are:

  • Arson: (Against 2 enemy targets) Deals % Burn damage Twice. Each separate attack chooses a different target. This skill has 2 rounds of cooldown.
  • Fuel Oil: (Against all enemies) Burn damage received +%.
    It is highly recommended to put some points on both of these skills since they provide insane Burn damage burst against multiple targets.

Naturally effective stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.

Second main skill is “Warband Leader” which will give Sharku’s designated army +% Speed buff. This isn’t a very useful skill but regardless of its usefulness, you might put some points into it to unlock connecting skills if you are seeking resource/siege bonuses.

Note that “Warband Leader” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. Additionally on max level of “Warband Leader” skill, acts as 2 Commanders when completing tips. Two additional skills that you will unlock upon leveling “Warband Leader” to level 2 are:

  • Logistics: (Army) Siege +amount.
  • Collector: Resource gathered +%.

Naturally effective stats % rise as you level up addressed skills.

Respect level 3 Build

Upon reaching Respect level 3 with Sharku you will be able to unlock and level up his third main skill called “Conspirator”. “Conspirator” will give (Commander) buff for burst but debuff for Physical damage, so Poison and Burn damage will get a bonus +% and Physical damage -%. Upon unlocking this skill you should reset your skill points and max this skill first, and put the rest of the points into Arsonist”.

Note that the “Conspirator” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. Like every other main skill, these stats rise as you level up the skill. At the max level of “Conspirator” skill, (Commander) Physical damage cannot be decreased further.

Also it is at the same time debuff, this is a very useful max level bonus to keep the damage in your control. Two additional skills that you will unlock upon leveling “Conspirator” to level 2 are:

  • Treason: (First 4 rounds) [Against 2 enemy targets] +% chance of succumbing to Madness each round.
  • Trickery: (Against 1 enemy target) Deals % Physical damage and imposes a +% chance of succumbing to Madness for 1 round. This skill has 2 rounds of cooldown.

Respect level 5 Build

And finally upon reaching Respect level 5 with Sharku you will be able to unlock and level up his fourth main skill called “Warg Trainer” which will give allies with Wargs a buff to their damage dealt for%.

This should be your focus point in late-game especially since you will be recruiting Warg units for sure, this is a huge buff for them and it can change the course of battle. Like every other main skill, these stats rise as you level up the skill. At the max level of “Warg Trainer” skill, Orcs will become Immune to Madness.

Note that the “Warg Trainer” skill is referenced as a “title” rather than “skill” which essentially means once it’s unlocked and you have a skill point in it, it will act as a passive skill. Two additional skills that you will unlock upon leveling “Warg Trainer” to level 2 are:

  • Warg Healing: (Round 5) [Allied units with Wargs] Recover % of HP (effect modified by Focus stat)
  • Beast Taming: (Units with Wargs) Defence +%.
    It is highly recommended to put some points on both of these skills since they give damage and defense boost for your Warg units.
